The Ruth Pasternack Leadership Fund was created in honor of Ruth Pasternack, who is pictured below. Ruth was one of the co-founders and the first officially elected president of the Round Table, which later became the OLLI at SBU program. The fund was created for workshop leaders or aspiring workshop leaders to help them stretch to a new or expanded role within OLLI.
Please review the below guidelines for the fund before completing your application:
- This application is for OLLI members who would like to attend a course or program outside of OLLI which will allow them to create a new OLLI workshop or enhance an already existing workshop.
- The maximum award amount is limited to $500.00, exclusive of travel and room & board. Receipts will be required.
- There is a deadline of one academic year from the date of application in which you must use your newly gained knowledge for an OLLI workshop.
- In the event that you are unable to present the corresponding workshop within the following year, the award must be refunded to the Ruth Pasternack Leadership Fund.
- This application is the initial request for funding. The OLLI at SBU Program Director, Curriculum Committee, and OAB President will work collaboratively to review and approve your application.
