Center for Civic Justice Presentation Request
The Center for Civic Justice at Stony Brook University is committed to developing engaged local and global citizens. In order to do this, we provide voter engagement, community service, and educational opportunities that are meaningful and make a positive impact.
If you are a student, staff or faculty member that is interested in having the Center for Civic Justice host one of our educational sessions, please complete this presentation request form below.
Democracy-101: Our peer-led Democracy-101 presentation aims to educate students on elements of civic engagement and inform students on the basics of democracy such as media literacy, the structure of government, and the importance of voting in not only national elections but local elections as well. The program is non-partisan and data driven with the goal of emphasizing the importance of engagement for all, and promoting the participation of all students in democratic process.
Voter Registration: Our voter registration sessions offer brief instructional support on how to fill out the voter registration form correctly. Our Center provides both New York State voter registration forms and out-of-state voter registration forms. Following these sessions, all voter registration forms collected will be delivered to the appropriate state and county Board of Elections office.
Other: If you are interested in having the Center for Civic Justice host a presentation on a topic that is not covered by one of the options above (ex. how to apply for an absentee ballot, how to find your polling location, how to research the candidates on your ballot). Please select other and provide information on your request.
Please note: Completing this form does not confirm our Center's availability to meet your request, our team will reach out to coordinate details and confirm we have staff available to accommodate your request.
Thank you for your interest in advance, we look forward to working with you!
